Judith Boysen

Judith Wills (Johnson) Boysen died on January 18, 2015, at the age of 76.

Judith and her identical twin, Janeth, were born June 4th, 1938, in Minneapolis, MN to Catherine L. and Donald M. Johnson. In 1941, the family moved to Hudson, WI. She graduated with honors from Hudson Public Schools in 1956 and again, with honors, from UW-River Falls in 1960, with an English teaching degree.

In 1960, she married Dr. Nils Fauchald Jr., Yale grad and U of WA medical student. They were divorced in 1976. In 1984, she married Adolf “Ade” Boysen (3M). They made their home in Hudson. 

Former employers include Bellevue WA Public Schools, Cherry Hill, NJ Public Schools, St. Croix County Human Services Dept. as a supervisor and Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church as a secretary.

During her lifetime, Judy served in many elected positions, including: Nu Sigma Nu (U WA) Medical Wives Club Secretary, Philadelphia General Hospital Wives Club Secretary, Senior Class Secretary at UW-RF, Goodhue County Medical Wives Club Treasurer, Red Wing MN Sunnyside Elementary School PTA Vice President, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Women’s Guild President and Vestry Secretary, Phipps Center for the Arts Costumer, Drama Council Secretary, Social Services Assn Union Steward, River Ridge Townhome Assn Secretary.

She was a volunteer for the Seattle Symphony Orchestra Auxiliary, St. John’s Hospital in Red Wing, MN, Brownie Scouts, League of Women Voters, Hudson High School College Bound Program, Christ Episcopal Church (Red Wing), Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church (Hudson), the Hudson Food Shelf and as a Reading Tutor. She was also a supporter of Twin Cities Public Television, Planned Parenthood and UW-River Falls.

Judy and Janney were the only twin Miss Hudsons, sharing the crown in 1956. She loved writing poetry, cooking, entertaining, flower gardening and playing bridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald & Catherine Johnson; her identical twin, Janeth R. Taylor; and her husband, Ade Boysen. She is survived by her son, Christian F. Fauchald; her brother, Donald R. (& Candace) Johnson; her niece, Catherine (& Patrick) Botz, (Jessica and Andrew); and her nephew, John E. Taylor (Ann and Margaret). Also, many very special friends, including Mary Hallen Ellefson and Robert Plahn.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Ascension Episcopal Church, 214 N. 3rd St., Stillwater, MN from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by a service and burial at Ascension.
