Juel D. Pettis Jr., age 76, of Hammond, WI, died on April 3, 2023 at Regions Hospital surrounded by family, following a workplace accident.
Juel was born on September 6, 1946 in Waukesha, WI to Juel Sr. and Iva (Collins) Pettis. He graduated from Mukwonago High School and then enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served from 1964 – 1968. It was while he was stationed in California that he met Joan Cabral, and the two would later be married on January 4, 1969 in Eagle, WI. He worked for many years at 3M in Data Programming.
Juel loved spending time with his family – he was intensely passionate about caring for his wife, kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. The outdoors was a big part of his life, especially hunting and fishing, and he loved most raising his children and grandchildren to love the outdoors as well. He was fond of any large gatherings where he could socialize with his friends or family, traveling (especially going on cruises with Joan), playing cribbage, Farkle, and other games with his family, crossword puzzles, and going to the family’s cabin up north. He will forever be remembered as a faithful husband, dedicated father and grandfather, and a person who cared deeply for all those he loved most.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; children: Angela (Steve) Bohm, Walter Pettis, and Leonard (Kathryn) Pettis; grandchildren: Tia (Andrew) Senesac, Matthew (Melissa) Pettis, Autumn Curry, Skylar Stewart, Chloe Pettis, Hailey Pettis, Madison Bohm, and Evan Pettis; great-grandchildren: Aurora Senesac, Aiden Senesac, and Haidyn Herold; and siblings: Ella Holberg, Georgia Woolridge, Sandy (Syd) Staton, and Iva Peck.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Marianna (Robert) Chapman, Gladys (Harry) Bowey, Barbara (Dwight) Wright; and brother-in-law, Warren Woolridge
