Jule D. Melby, age 79 of Baldwin WI, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Baldwin Area Medical Center. Jule was born on November 30, 1931 in Cylon Township WI to parents Carl and Gertrude (Zacharias) Melby. Jule was a graduate of New Richmond High School. Jule would be united in marriage to Parma Faye Hauck on June 16, 1963 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Saint Paul MN.

Jule was always a farmer at heart. He was known by many as the mill foreman for Hammond Farm Supply, and also drove grain truck. For years, Jule has been loyal to driving a red Chevy pick-up. When he wasn’t working, Jule loved spending an afternoon playing cards with his family. Among their favorite card games were Schafkopf, Euchre, and 500. Along with his wife Parma, Jule enjoyed traveling across the United States, and to Canada and Alaska.

Jule is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Parma; his brother Neal (Joyce) Melby of New Richmond; sister Sylvia (Bob) Wynveen of Lockport IL; brother-in-law Mel (Marianne) Hauck of Sauk Rapids MN; three generations of nieces and nephews; and many good friends. Jule was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Gertrude; and siblings Lorraine, Carl, Herb, and infant twins.

A Memorial Celebration of Life for Jule Melby will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 1350 Florence Street in Baldwin with Pastor Lowell Bolstad officiating.  Cremation services provided by the O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin WI. 715-684-3434
