It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of June Isabelle Ball (Swenson), who departed from this world peacefully on December 15, 2024, at the age of 99. Born on May 11, 1925, in New Sweden, Minnesota, June embraced a life filled with warmth, love, and family.
June grew up on a farm with nine siblings, although some of them had moved from the farm by the time she was born. Her parents taught them to always be kind and helpful to their neighbors. She also had a hymn book and sang in the church choir. She was the youngest child and the last one to go to heaven. She was married twice and had eight children that she raised on her own.
June’s interests primarily revolved around her family. She was a great cook and complained that there was no stove or refrigerator in her room at the nursing home. She also was a great housekeeper and was always complimented on how clean her house and children were. She knew how to crochet and would also sew clothing for her children. She enjoyed whatever music was popular at the time, for example, Elvis, Julio Iglesias and Engelbert Humperdinck. She loved the television shows Laugh-In, Carol Burnet and Johnny Carson, actors and comedians Dean Martin, Ruth Buzzi, Harvey Korman and Tim Conway. She also had an interest in John F Kennedy and the Kennedy family. With her it was always about the happiness of others over herself, she carried this belief to her last day. And you can bet your life, she carried it with her to heaven.
As a devoted mother June’s life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family. She poured her heart and soul into everything she did, touching the lives of those around her with kindness and compassion. Everyone would comment on what a sweet woman she was.
June is survived by her beloved children Kathleen Roberts, Deborah Coppersmith, Steven Ball, Donald Ball, Ronald Ball, James Ball, Robert Ball and 6 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
As a gold star mother, June was preceded in death by her parents Swen and Inga Swenson; Son Michael J O’Neill.
