Juneal A Korpal, age 69, of Lake St. Croix Beach, MN, died on March 15, 2012 at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.
She was born as the first daughter and third child to Allen and Leona (Peterson) Solid on April 27, 1942. After attending Eagle Bend High School, she began working in quality control for Hartzell Manufacturing. During this time, she completed a Bookkeeping and Accounting Certificate program from St. Paul Technical College. After Hartzell closed in 2002, she sold pull tabs for several different organizations in the St. Croix Valley.
Juneal had a real love for gambling, and thoroughly enjoyed playing the slot machines, powerball, bingo, and pull tabs. She also loved to bake, watch Nascar, snowmobile, attend local tractor pulls, and read romance novels. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, frequently attending family gatherings and events, as well as going on camping trips together.
Juneal is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, George; children, Cindy (Terry) Sweeney of Maplewood, MN, and Jill (significant other, Ralph “RP” Alvarez III) Korpal of Cottage Grove, MN; grandchildren, Shawn Sweeney of Portland, OR, Logan Sweeney of Maplewood, MN, Devin Sweeney of Maplewood, MN, and Ralphie Alvarez IV of Cottage Grove, MN; sister, Jurene (Jim) Jedlicka of Clarissa, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Leona (Peterson) Solid; brothers, Bobbi (and sister-in-law JoAnn) Solid and Gary Solid.
A celebration of Juneal’s life will be held at 12pm on Monday, March 19, 2012 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI. A visitation will be held for one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Lakeland, Minnesota. Services are in the care of the O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory – Hudson, Wisconsin. 715.386.3725
