Karen L. Allen, age 57, of Lake St. Croix Beach, MN, died on July 30, 2020 at her home on the St. Croix River after a valiant fight with breast cancer, with her family, friends, and cats at her side.

Karen was born on April 2, 1963 to Martin and Patricia (Mulvaney) Christensen in Hudson, WI. She graduated from Stillwater High School and went on to pursue higher education at St. Paul TVI. During her marriage to Steve Allen she was blessed with two children, Danielle and Cory.

Karen worked for over 24 years at Lakeview Hospital as a Health Unit Coordinator, spending many years working in the OB and Oncology departments. She enjoyed the Mary Kay community, Bible Study through her beloved church, and spending time at the cabin with her partner Mike. She is remembered for her strength, infectious laugh, warm heart and advocacy for positivity and faith. 

She is survived by her children, Danielle (Brian) and Cory Allen; brother, Bill (Monica) Christensen; and partner, Mike. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Patricia Christensen.

A Memorial Service for Karen will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, August 7th at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 14107 Hudson Rd. S, Afton with a visitation held one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Shepherd of the Valley Church.
