Karin Elizabeth Sandstrom, age 92 of River Falls, WI, passed away August 25, 2020 at the River Falls Area Hospital.  Karin was born August 16, 1928 in Ashland, WI to Verner and Naima (Sandsten) Sandstrom.  She graduated from Ashland High School, with the Class of 1946.  Karin furthered her education obtaining a master’s degree in social work.  She had a long rewarding career as a social worker.

Karin’s heart was driven with the passion in education.  She was always curious to learn, loved reading, and was especially interested in her family history and genealogy.  In her quiet time, Karin enjoyed sewing and doing cross stitch.  She also delighted in the challenge of crossword puzzles and word searches.

Karin will remain in the hearts of her beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Verner and Naima Sandstrom; brothers, Robert Sr. (Arlene) Sandstrom and Carl W. Sandstrom; along with many dear friends.

A graveside service honoring Karin’s life will take place 11:00 am Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls.  Funeral services are entrusted to the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home of River Falls (715) 425-5644
