Kathleen Grass

Kathleen “Kathy” Grass age 64 of Hudson died May 2nd, 2019 at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul. Kathy was born on October 31, 1954 in Tomah, Wisconsin; the daughter of Stanley and Mary (Dennison) Heiberg. She was raised in New Lisbon prior to moving to Hudson where she graduated from high school in the class of ’72. On February 24, 1973, she was united in marriage to her best friend Ronald Grass to which four children were born. Kathy loved being a mom and was ever so proud of her children. Family was first and foremost, but countless friends of her kids called her Mama G. One of her favorites was playing cards with her grandchildren and spending the summers at Brad and Kay’s Campground. Here, she loved fishing, sitting around the campfire making smores, spending the day soaking up the sun on the beach, or having her favorite bloody mary made by her son-in-law. To her family and friends, she was known as the Campground Queen. She also enjoyed watching Packer games with Ron. For the past 14 years, Kathy was employed with Leslee & Associates. Over the years, she also worked as a certified nurses assistant, did home day care, and most recently work for ASAP (Assembly Service and Packaging).

Kathy will live on in the hearts of her children, Jonathan (Lisa) Grass, Randy (Kim) Grass, Amanda (Michael) Busby, Jennifer (fiancé Chad) Grass; grandchildren Tyrel, Mianda, Kya, Samantha, Jacob, Logan, Isaac, Meghan, Liam, Emelia, Hailey, and countless others who called her grandma. She is further survived by her siblings Gary Heiberg, Glenn (Brenda) Heiberg, Pat (Clayton) Iverson, Diane (Rick) Erdman, and her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by parents, Husband Ron, brother Jack, and sister-in-law LuAnn Heiberg. Celebration of Life for Kathy will be 4pm Friday, May 10th at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. Friends and family will be gathering two hours prior at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Willow River Cemetery in Hudson. Memorials are preferred.
