Kathryn Nichols, age 64, passed away on April 19, 2022 in Rice Lake, WI. Kathryn was born to Leroy and Irene King on October 30, 1957 in Dowagiac, MI. Kathryn married the love of her life, Donald Nichols, on August 18, 1978 in Jones, MI.

Kathryn was proud to be very independent. During her life she worked a wide variety of jobs starting out in the bait shop that her parents owned when she was a child. She would also become a manager at Burger King as well as a bus aid working with handicap children. In Kathryn’s free time she loved to knit and crochet. She was notorious for “watching the news too much”, and was always caught up on her favorite tv show “Grey’s Anatomy”. You could always count on Kathryn to tune into every Chicago Bears, and Notre Dame football games. One of favorite things to do with her family was visit zoos and learn about all the different animals. Kathryn loved being a grandmother. She enjoyed to spend time with her grandkids, especially going out to eat and trying new food.

Kathryn will forever remain in the hearts of her daughter Sarah (Jeremy Anderson); grandchildren Robbie Gausmann, Paiton Bowen; sister Patricia (Ron) Herron; brother Alan King; brothers-in-law Michael (Velma) Nichols, John (Kim) Nichols; her father-in-law Donald (Jean) Nichols Senior; as well as many nieces and nephews. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents Leroy and Irene King; husband Donald Nichols Jr.; and daughter Donna Jean Nichols “DJ”.

A celebration to honor Kathryn’s life will be held on Thursday, April 28th 2022 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin, WI. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
