Kay Lavaun Thom

Kay LaVonne Thom, 77, of Ellsworth, died Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Kinnic Health and Rehab. Center, River Falls, WI.
Kay was born on January 14, 1939 in Amery, WI the daughter of Alfred and Blanche(Clark) Bye.
She was a graduate of River Falls High School and married Richard Thom on November 14, 1959 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, River Falls, WI.
Kay worked for a brief time at Webb Publishing from 1958 to 1960. From there she went on to work at Cenex Land O’Lakes in Inverness Grove Heights, Minnesota. Kay worked there for 36 years and retired back to the farm.
Kay and Dick enjoyed many years of traveling, boating and time with their grandchildren.
Kay was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Big River, WI
Kay is survived by her husband Richard, of Ellsworth, WI.
Three children: Darla Thom, Menomonie, WI; Dan Thom, Ellsworth, WI; and Diane (Jason) Peterson, Hager City, WI.
Seven grandchildren: Jada Holst, Autumn Sarnstrom, Brandon (Jenna) Thom, Travis (Sarah Dietrich) Thom, Ashlyn Kaltenbraun, Lexa Kinneman, and Bryson Peterson.
One great-grandson Clint Thom.
One sister Ferris Landaal and one brother Marlo “Nubby” Bye.
One brother-in-law Duane Austrum.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brothers Audrey and hers husband Chuck McCoy, Joe “Curly” Bye, Galen, Goldie Helmer, Sharon Austrum and Judy Bye and brother in-law Alfred Landaal.

Funeral services for Kay will be held at 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth, WI. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, River Falls, WI. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
