  1. I met Kurt in the very early days of WXPR. Then when he retired, I enjoyed getting to know him, as he hosted a weekly music program. He also published a regular newspaper column about early jazz music. He was deeply committed to his music. Joyce frequently came with him to the station, and was a valued volunteer as well.
By the time they moved away from Rhinelander, Kurt and Joyce were like extended family.
My best to Joyce and the family.
