Lance D. Bolton

Lance D. Bolton age 48 of Hudson WI died peaceful on October, 4, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 29, 1966 in Portland, Maine; the son of Richard L. and Sandra J. (Plummer) Bolton. He attended Hanson Elementary School in Buxton, Maine prior to graduating from Bonny Eagle High School in the class of ‘84. After graduation, he enlisted in the Armed Forces where he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a geodetic surveyor and  construction draftsman from 1984 to 1988 to his honorable discharge as an Corporal.  On June 20, 1987, he was united in marriage to Vicki Jean Gentz in Springfield, Minnesota. To this union they were blessed with their daughter Christina.  Lance had a career in government service, both as a government service employee and as a contractor, to include jobs as a Customs Inspector, Housing Manager, and various positions in Informational Technology and Management. He also worked with the United States Army to include assignments with the 88th and the  244th Divisions  as an independent governmental contractor.  Lance worked and traveled worldwide with his wife Vicki whom had a career in the United States Navy. In 2009, Lance moved to Hudson, Wisconsin to take a position in Informational Management Technology for CHS Inc. out of Inver Grove Heights, MN. Lance loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed the adventure of the outdoors to include riding his motorcycle and traveling the countryside. He also enjoyed a competitive game of golf, or a bit more intense game of paintball. He also appreciated hunting, scuba diving, or simply flying stunt kites. Lance had a gift of quick wit and sense of humor, gifts he gave unconditionally to others.   

Lance is preceded in death by his father Richard Bolton. He is survived by his wife Vicki; daughter Christina  (Jon) Davis; two granddaughters Abigail and Olivia; his mother Sandra; and brothers Greg, Bryan, and Lars.    

 Funeral services will take place at 9:00 am on October 17, 2014 at Hudson United Methodist Church, 1401 Laurel Ave Hudson. A visitation will take place from 4:00- 7:00 pm on October 16, 2014 at O’ Connell Family Funeral Home 520 So. Eleventh St., Hudson, and one half hour prior to the funeral service at church. Lance’s interment will take place at Fort Snelling with full military honors.
