Larry J. Quale

Larry J. Quale, Age 66 of Hudson, WI, passed away May 23, 2012 at The Gathering at Boutwell’s Landing in Oak Park Heights, MN after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  Larry was born on September 16, 1945; the son of Harold and Marie (nee Brion) Quale.  Larry moved from Prescott to Hudson when he was a freshman and graduated from Hudson High School- the class of 1963.  Larry proudly served his country in the Army Reserves for 6 years following high school.  He was united in marriage on June 12, 1971 in St. Paul to Karlene Caress.  Their marriage was blessed with three children; Greg, Suzie and Sarah.    Larry worked as a millwright for 3M for 31 years and retired December of 2011.

Larry had a quiet and dignified presence in life and with his faith.  He had a great sense of family and was a wonderful and caring husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.  He had a gracious heart, served as protector of his family and never had a bad word to say about others.  He was thorough in his work, self-sufficient and knowledgeable with everything mechanical.  There was never a need to call a repair person as there was nothing broken that Larry couldn’t fix.  He loved the quiet and peacefulness of nature and especially enjoyed bow hunting and fishing.  Larry left a legacy of love and devotion to family and friends, will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.

Larry will remain in the hearts of his loving wife of 41 years, Karlene; son, Greg (Kristi) Quale of Oak Park Heights; daughters, Suzie (Dennis) Dettmann  of North Hudson and Sarah (Bill) Greifzu of Spring Valley; 9 grandchildren:  Jack & Olivia Quale, Ashley, Bryan and Madelyn Dettmann, Tori, Shannon, Sera & Sam Greifzu; parents, Harold & Marie Quale; 4 sisters, Pat (Chuck) Deal of New Richmond, Nancy Quale of Hudson, Diane (Joel) Edin of New Richmond and Barb (Tim) Bailey of Sussex, WI; as well as many other relatives & friends.  He was preceded in death by sister, Judi Lee; mother-in-law  and father-in-law, Mary & John Caress; brother-in-law, Jim Caress; and nephew, Kris Lee.
