Larry LaPean, age 65 of Hudson, WI, formerly of Arkansaw, WI, passed away on September 21, 2019 at his home with family by his side. Larry was born on April 21, 1954 in Plum City, WI, to parents Alfred and Irene (Rose) LaPean. He graduated from Arkansaw High School and started his career as a truck driver, most recently working for Wiseway Transportation Services.

He married the love of his life Pamela Brantner on August 2, 1975 and they began their family with four boys.  In 1998, they decided together to become foster parents. Being a foster parent was a big part of Larry’s life and he loved each of the over 80 children they cared for as his own.  Together, he and Pam chose to expand their family adopting four boys. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and trips to Alaska. Larry was also an active member at St. Patrick Parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Larry will remain in the hearts of his wife Pam; children Ted (Jessica), Andy (Leslie), Kyle (Christa), Paul, Desmond, Keoni, Daniel, and Remy; grandchildren Samuel, Abigail, Jacob, Vicky, Alex, Elizabeth, Madison, and Eliana; siblings Violet (Wilbert) Pichler, Bernard (Linda) LaPean, Janice (Jerry) Snider, and Jean Fredrickson. He is preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Irene, brother Robert and brother-in-law Bill Fredrickson.

Mass of Christian Burial for Larry will be held at 11am, Thursday, September 26th at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hudson. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm, Wednesday, September 25th at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, as well as one hour prior to the mass at church. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family.

    • I just heard about Larry’s passing. My condolences to his family. I worked with Larry at Wiseway for some time and always enjoyed talking to him. He loved his family very much.

    • I’m sorry to learn of Larry’s passing. I worked with him in North Hudson, back in the mid 1980’s. He was always a decent guy to work with.

    • Heartfelt sympathy to your family. May fond memories help you through the rough times. He will be missed but his love for his family will keep him close.

    • When we were together as a family we had a great time.
You will be truly missed by missed by us.
May you rest in the arms of “Jesus.”

    • Larry was such a kind person. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. I am so sad and sorry for your loss. Fill your sad hearts with happy memories of times with Larry. I remember when he would take the children bowling Saturday mornings and all the fun they would have.

    • I remember Larry as a caring father for his boys who attended St. Lawrence Seminary. I would meet them at family days and other times parents were on the hill. It was a great sacrifice he made and the young men were a tribute to their parents.

Your are all in my thoughts and prayers. Wish I could be there to celebrate with you the life of a very good man.
