Larry Joseph Wiskerchen, age 80 of Ellsworth, passed away October 16, 2020 at his home, due to a pre-existing heart condition. Larry was born February 28, 1940 in Plum City, WI to Irvin and Alice (Schladweilder) Wiskerchen. He graduated from Prescott High School, with the Class of 1957. On June 18, 1971, Larry was united in marriage to Diane Lee Sanders. He was blessed with four children, Christian, Dawn, Brian and Michael. Throughout his life, Larry worked in heavy highway construction, hobby farming, drove truck and also delighted in his time driving limousines for exclusive guests and entertainment for Treasure Island Resort & Casino.
Larry was dedicated to his faith and his family. He was a devoted member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Ellsworth. Larry loved being surrounded by his family and cherished his travels to Denmark. He took great pride in his homestead and was meticulous in caring for his lawn and flowers. He also enjoyed time tinkering in his shop and was especially handy when something needed to be fixed.
Larry will remain in the hearts of his loving wife, Diane; his children, Dawn (Jamie) Follstad, Brian Wiskerchen and Michael (fiancé, Christine) Wiskerchen; daughter-in-law, Birgitte Wiskerchen; 4 beloved grandchildren, Mikkel (Ida) Wiskerchen, Emma Wiskerchen, Noah and Alice Follstad; great-granddaughter, Elva Wiskerchen; sister, Patricia Wiskerchen; brothers-in-law, Howard Meier and James (Judy) Sanders; and mother-in-law, Elaine Sanders. He was preceded in death by his son, Christian; sister, Arlene Meier; parents, Irvin and Alice Wiskerchen; and father-in-law, Edward “Dick” Sanders.
A visitation (with respect to social distancing and the use of masks required) will take place from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM Monday, October 19, 2020 at St. Francis Catholic Church, 231 Woodworth St., Ellsworth. A private Mass of Christian Burial will take place with Fr. Jerzy Rebacz officiating. Interment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Prescott. Pallbearers assisting with the services will be: Joe Meier, Brant Sanders, Matthew Sanders, Dan Urch, David Urch and Chuck Wencl. Larry’s grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorials are preferred, instead of flowers, to St. Francis Catholic Church or a charity of your choice.
