Laverl Huppert

Laverl Ada Huppert, age 82 of Cannon Falls MN and formerly of River Falls WI, died peacefully on Thursday, December 20, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. She left this world much in the same manner that she lived her life; surrounded by the love of her family. Laverl was born August 8, 1936 in Buffalo County WI to parents Robert Theodore and Rose Evelyn (Nimmo) Stelter. Like many of her generation, Laverl attended country school, and helped around the family farm. Laverl was united in marriage to Duane “Dewey” Huppert on May 19, 1982. Together they farmed in the River Falls area until Dewey’s passing in 2011.

Laverl worked for over 31 years at the Red Wing Shoe Company before retiring in 1994. Outside of work, she loved the farm life, fishing, and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed getaways to the cabin in Siren WI, and trips to the casino. Laverl liked to embroider throughout the years, and enjoyed crafting while at Twin Rivers, where she made many friends. Laverl was devoted in her faith, and proudly joined the Catholic church. Laverl cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and leaves a legacy of love with them all.

Laverl is survived by her sons, David (Shirley) Weller, and Robert Allen Weller; her daughter, Peggy (Allen) Hayes; nine grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Huppert; her daughter, Brenda; two grandsons; one great-grandson; brothers, Lloyd, Albert, and Ronnie Stelter; and sister, Marie Gilles.

Mass of Christian Burial for Laverl Huppert will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 27th at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, 211 E Division Street in River Falls WI, with Rev. Fr. Jerry Harris officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bridget’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass at church, and also from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, December 26th at the church. Memorials may be given to the discretion of the family. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home of River Falls, WI. 715-425-5644
