LaVern D. Langer, 89, formerly of Ellsworth, WI, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015, at Chippewa Manor in Chippewa Falls, WI.
He was born on August 20, 1925, the son of the late William and Mary Langer and grew up in the Diamond Bluff area. On July 18, 1959, he was united in marriage to Donna Port in St. Paul, MN and the couple made their home in Ellsworth. Donna preceded LaVern in death on August 16, 1999.
LaVern was employed by the Ellsworth Creamery, retiring at the age of 60 to care for his ailing wife.
LaVern was loved and is survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, LaVern was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Martin Langer, Marie (John) Denzer, Leo (Christina) Langer, Freda Langer, William Langer, Arnold (Mildred) Langer, Irene (Douglas) Johnson, Bernard (Felicia) Langer and Lorraine (Bernard) Kinneman.
A Mass of Christian Burial for LaVern will be held 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ellsworth and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.
