Lavina Jane “Vi” Freese, age 89 of Webster WI, formerly of Baldwin WI and Hastings MN, died on Saturday, October 30, 2010. Vi was born on July 16, 1921 in Hastings MN to parents John and Elizabeth Newman. Vi was a graduate of Hastings High School. On June 22, 1942 in San Francisco CA, she would be united in marriage to Ralph LeRoy “Bud” Freese.

Vi worked many different clerical jobs in the area, including Northern States Power, First bank of Baldwin, and with the St. Croix County Ag Stabilization Committee. Outside of work, Vi enjoyed knitting, and was a fan of all kinds of traveling and road trips. Vi also was a proud grandmother, and enjoyed keeping up with the lives of her grandchildren.

Vi will remain in the hearts of her sons, John (Nancy) Freese of Roberts WI, George Freese of Grantsburg WI, and Ron (Kathy) Freese of Webster WI; grandchildren, Denise (Gene) Perry, Kathy (Nick) Bennig, Zach Freese, and Travis Freese; great-grandchildren, Mindy, Stephanie, Summer, Nathan, and Connor. Vi was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph “Bud” Freese.

A Memorial Service for Vi Freese will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 5th at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin WI. 715-684-3434.
