Lawrence Huppert

Lawrence Raymond Huppert, age 76 of River Falls, WI, died on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 with his family by his side. Lawrence was born July 3, 1944 in River Falls, WI to parents Edmund and Rose (Von Kuster) Huppert.  He attended school in River Falls and graduated from River Falls High School in 1962.  He served his country in the National Guard from 1964-1970.  Lawrence was united in marriage on April 1, 1967 to Kay Hofmeister.

Lawrence devoted his life to farming and was a successful, yet humble, dairy farmer known for good cattle genetics and his dedication to quality milk as recognized by continuous top-quality awards from the creamery.  He farmed alongside his brother, Donald, and then with his son-in-law, Jason.  When he wasn’t milking cows or tending to the land, he enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, listening to sports radio, card nights with friends, attending car and tractor shows, local dairy cow shows, visiting other area farmers, and spending time with his grandchildren.  Lawrence was a dedicated caretaker of his land and livestock, a beloved father and grandfather, and a good friend and neighbor to others.  He will be greatly missed in the agricultural community.

Lawrence is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Kay Huppert; his daughters, Lori (Jason) Kjos of River Falls, Sheri (Russell) Hovde of Prescott, Anna (Josh) Hudek of River Falls, and Amanda (Joshua) Sazama of River Falls; his grandchildren, Amelia (Jackson Vanderwagen) and Ambrea Kjos and Alexa and Alexandar Hudek; sister, Delores (Fred) Schulte of Roberts; brother Bill (Susan) Huppert of River Falls; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends.  Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Rose Huppert, and brother, Donald Huppert.

Mass of Christian Burial for Lawrence Huppert will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 15 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, 211 E. Division Street in River Falls, WI with Rev. Fr. Jerry Harris officiating, with visitation one hour prior to service. Mass will also be available live on the St. Bridget Catholic Church Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/St.Bridget.RF/  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14 from 4:00-8:00 pm in the big shed on his farm, Huppert Brothers Family Farm, 855 Chapman Drive, River Falls, WI. There will be drive-by (tractors welcomed) or walk-up options to share your condolences. Burial with military honors will take place at St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery in River Falls. Pallbearers assisting with the services will be Jason Kjos, Russell Hovde, Josh Hudek, Joshua Sazama, Amelia Kjos and Ambrea Kjos. Honorary pallbearers are Alexa and Alexander Hudek.  Services are in the care of the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home of River Falls, WI.  715-425-5644
