Leslie R. “Bud” Rademaker

Leslie Robert “Bud” Rademaker, age 89 of Woodville WI, died on Tuesday morning, July 1, 2014 at the Park View Home in Woodville. Bud was born April 23, 1925 in Baldwin Township to parents Henry and Katie (nee Bol) Rademaker. Bud attended country school, first in Menomonie and later at Sunnyside in Baldwin. Bud would be united in marriage to Shirley A. Saugestad on December 20, 1946. Their union in marriage would be blessed with a son, Robert, two generations of grandchildren, and over 67 years of love and devotion to each other.
Bud worked for years as a meat cutter, working at Eggen’s Market, Nelson’s Super Valu, and Nilssen’s Foods. He was also involved in his community as a member of the Woodville Lions Club. For almost 20 years, Bud, along with Shirley, has worked, literally thousands of evening visitations for the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, and previously for the Dull Funeral Home. His kind character and familiar smile greeted all who came through the doors, and brought comfort to grieving families. Bud will also be remembered for his great sense of humor, and his affinity for a good bowl of ice cream. Though he’ll be missed, he will be loved and remembered by many.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley; his son, Bob (Terry) Rademaker; granddaughters, Jodi (Josh) Syrjamaki, Jill Rademaker (Rob Barabe), and Jessica (Trent) Yunker; great-granddaughters, Olivia Syrjamaki, Ella Mae Yunker, and Sadie Lynn Yunker; great-grandsons, Isaac Syrjamaki and Brennen Rademaker; sister, Elaine Johnson; brother-in-law, Paul (Elizabeth) Saugestad; sister-in-law, Evie Rademaker; as well as many other relatives and friends. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Leon; brother-in-law, Neil Johnson; and sister-in-law, Maxine (Malcolm) Gunderson.
Funeral Services celebrating the life of Bud Rademaker will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 7, 2014 at the First Reformed Church, 1120 11th Avenue in Baldwin. Bud will be laid to rest at Sunset Cemetery in Woodville. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services at the church, and also from 4:00-7:00pm on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton Street in Baldwin. Services are in the care of the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin WI. 715-684-3434
