Lila M. Schneider

Lila M. Schneider, age 80 of Baldwin WI, died at the Baldwin Care Center on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, the very date she and her loving husband Clifford celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Lila was born on March 23, 1931 in Gilman Township; the daughter of Herman and Inga (Hanson) Aamodt. Lila attended Locust Grove Country School prior to graduating from Spring Valley High School. On June 7, 1952, she was united in marriage to Clifford J. Schneider at Gilman Lutheran Church in rural Spring Valley. This union would be further blessed with six children. She loved being a wife, mom, and homemaker. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, doing her fancy work – embroidery, and loved to bake. Many favorite family memories arose from the smell of fresh baked cookies or her famous apple pies which filled the house. It only took a phone call and a hot pie was waiting for you. She was an active faith member of Gethsemane Lutheran, Homemaker’s Club, and always looked forward to her Wednesday card club. Although she cherished being a wife and mom, she also worked over the years for PMA County Office in Pierce County, Coast To Coast Hardware, Gregerson Hardware, and Nelson’s SuperValu in Baldwin. Clifford and Lila created a home filled with love and taught their children life values and respect. Her warm heart and great smile will be deeply missed.
Lila will forever be in the hearts of her husband Clifford, children Susan (Craig) Melby of New Richmond, Debbie Smith of Baldwin, Cheryl Schneider of Hudson, Jeff (Nancy) Schneider of Woodville, Bruce (Sue) Schneider of Mahtowa, MN, Lori (Randy) Myer of Baldwin, grandchildren Carrie (Jon) Hubmer, Chris (Sarah) Melby, Colin (fiancee Jeana Lescarbeau) Melby, Jeremy (Christie) Smith, Tanya Smith, Missy (Ray) Gessler, Brooke (Zac) Campbell, Maggie (Kyle) Holmlund, Abbey (fiance Nate Nagel) Schneider, Zach Schneider, Rachael Moline, Laura Moline, Jake Myer, Amanda Myer, great grandchildren Bailey and Reece Hubmer, Gabe and Emery Melby, Halle and Emma Gessler, Josie Smith, siblings Dorothy (Harold “Ole”) Olson of Eau Claire, Marlys Henson of Farmington, MN, Harold (Shirley) Aamodt of Chippewa Falls, sister/brother-in-law Delores “Toots” and Richard “Dick” Torgerson of Baldwin, step mother Edna Aamodt of River Falls as well as many nieces and nephews.
