Lillian Cecelia Christianson, age 100 of Roberts, WI, passed away surrounded by family on July 21, 2015 at the Baldwin Care Center.
Lillian was born June 7, 1915 in Lignite, ND, the daughter of Victor and Ida (Bjorkman) Bengtson. She was united in marriage to Sigurd Christianson on October 6, 1935 in Carpio, ND. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Jimmie, Janice, Shelby, Joanette and Sigurid Wayne. In 1956 the family moved to Roberts, WI where they owned and operated the Roberts Cafe until 1961. Lillian also worked as a bookkeeper for the Speisman Fruit Company and Skelgas Propane, before retiring in 1978. In retirement, the couple moved to Mesa, AZ where they spent over thirty years.
Lillian loved spending time with her family, especially all of her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, sewing and snowmobiling. She was an excellent baker and candy maker, being known for her divinity candy, fudge, hardtack, and doughnuts. Lillian had a strong religious faith in God and was a Charter Member of Cross Lutheran Church in Roberts. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Great Northern Railroad. Lillian recently enjoyed a wonderful celebration with family and friends on her 100th birthday.
Lillian will remain in the hearts of her daughters, Shelby Ogden, Joanette Roethle; daughter-in-law, Sue (nee Trudell) Christianson; 3 generations of grandchildren; sister, Rosie Paulson; sisters-in-law, Twila Monson, Dagmar Anderson, and Beverly Gherke; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Sigurd; son, Jimmie; daughter, Janice Frazey; infant son, Sigurd; sons-in-law, Donald Roethle and Tom Frazey; granddaughter, Pamela Jackson; her parents and seven siblings.
Lillian and her family deeply appreciated all the care she was given by her nieces Rita Fern and Nancy Kirouac, as well as from the staff at the Baldwin Care Center and the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond, WI.
A Funeral Service for Lillian will be held at 2PM on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Cross Lutheran Church, 1246 County Road TT, Roberts, WI. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place at the Warren Cemetery in Roberts, WI.
