Linda L. Macey, age 72, of Hudson, WI, passed away the afternoon of Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Linda was born in North Platte, Nebraska to parents Clarence & Clarice Schwartz. She grew up in North Platte alongside her sister & brother, & graduated from the North Platte High School. After high school, Linda went on to pursue an education in nursing in Denver, Colorado. After completing her courses, Linda joined the Navy & worked as a Naval nurse until her retirement in 1992. She was stationed at many different military bases in California during her career. Linda also did a tour at a U.S. base in Spain. During her time stationed in California, Linda met Coast Guard pilot, Steven Macey. The two quickly hit it off & were wed in June of 1984, just a few days after Linda’s birthday. After 16 years in California, Linda & Steve relocated to Hudson, WI where they settled down & opened their home to five furry friends over the years, first a beagle and then four dachshunds. Linda loved spending time with her dogs, but could also be found sewing blankets & quilts, or reading fiction novels of all genres. Linda will be missed dearly by those closest to her, & she will continue to live on in their hearts.

Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years, Steve; sister, Deena (Mark) Speer of Central City, Nebraska; dachshunds, Snickers & Gussy; as well as her friends & neighbors. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence & Clarice; & dogs, Barney, Sam, & Ted.

A Memorial Service for Linda will be held at 4:00 P.M, Thursday, September 3, 2020 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 11th St. S. Hudson, WI, with a Visitation preceding the service from 3:00-4:00 P.M. Military Honors will be held immediately following the service at the funeral home.
