Lloyd Joseph Marek, age 77, of River Falls, WI and formerly of Prescott, WI died on Wednesday, October 25, 2018 at the Comforts of Home in River Falls, WI after suffering the past few years from Alzheimer’s. He was born on April 23, 1941 in Hastings, MN to Edward & Myrtle (Arrell) Marek. He grew up on a farm outside of Prescott and attended elementary school at the Sunnyside School and graduated from Prescott High School in 1959. On January 28, 1961 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary Ann Von Kuster and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage together. They were blessed with three children, Diana, Barbara, and Timothy.

Lloyd proudly worked at 3M Chemolite in Cottage Grove for 35 years. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, farming, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and cheering for all the Wisconsin sports teams. He also enjoyed his part-time painting business he had for many years. During his retirement years he lived in Ft. Myers, FL in the winters and Lake Nebagamon, WI in the summers. He loved spending time with friends and family and was extremely proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchilden.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Marek Sr.; his mother, Myrtle Marek Nelson, step-father, Carl Nelson; his infant daughter, Theresa Ann Marek, and infant son, John Edward Marek; infant sister Myrtle Ann Marek; sister Helen Rasmussen; brother, Edward Marek Jr.; brother-in-law, James Rasmussen.

Lloyd will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary; daughters, Diana (Gerald) Butch, Barb (Greg) Lee; son, Tim Marek; grandchildren, Joe (Holly) King, Jessica (David) Gleason, Alyssa Lee (Casey Kusilek), Hunter Lee; great-grandchildren, Aaron King, Mitchell, Kaybrick, Magdalena Ann Gleason; sister-in-law, Judy Marek and many other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial for Lloyd Marek will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 30th at St Bridget’s Catholic Church, 211 E. Division Street in River Falls WI, with Rev. Fr. Jerry Harris officiating. Visitation will be held at church beginning at 9:30am. Lloyd will be laid to rest at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Prescott, WI.
