Lois Jean Albarado, age 77 of Ellsworth, WI, died on Friday, December 6, 2019 at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. Lois was born May 25, 1942 in Durand, WI to parents Leonard and Nanna (Peterson) Bjurquist. Lois graduated from Pepin High School with the Class of 1960. On June 23, 1962 at the Sabylund Lutheran Church, Lois was united in marriage to James A. Albarado. Their union in marriage was blessed with three children, ten grandchildren, and over 57 years of love and devotion.

Throughout her life, Lois was dedicated to her family. She loved her husband and children, adored her grandchildren, and had a special place in her heart for her church family. Lois was an active member of Svea Lutheran Church since joining in 1967. Lois had music in her heart. Growing up in Sabylund Lutheran from a child to an adult, she sang in the church choir. She sang for decades with the Svea Church choir. Lois took the time to hand write personal cards and letters on a daily basis. Whether to family, to friends, or to just anyone in need of having their spirits lifted, she took the time to show others she cared. Over the years, Lois looked after and cared for many elderly neighbors. Being a caregiver and friend to others was a major part of who she was.

Lois loved to go antiquing and to garage sales. She enjoyed linens and glassware in her home. Being 100% Swedish, she also loved her Dala horses. Lois cherished time spent baking with her kids and grandkids. She was especially proud of her flowers and gardens, where she raised roses and rhubarb, and the sanctuary it provided to the birds she fed. She loved seeing cardinals, and counted as many as 19 of them on different occasions. Lois loved sunsets, and having coffee and visiting with neighbors. Her home was situated in the midst of all God’s creation, and she took time each day to appreciate it. Her life made a lasting impression with her beloved family, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lois is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim; her children, Jeff (Dianne) Albarado, Steve (Jennifer) Albarado, and Susan (Saah) Albarado Grand; grandchildren, Joshua (Kelsey) Albarado, Megan Albarado, Mitchell Albarado, Max Grand, Olivia Grand, Gabriel Albarado, Eli Grand, Sophia Grand, Brooklynn Albarado, and James Albarado; her siblings, Wenona Nielsen, Elliot (Betty) Bjurquist, Jerry (Karen) Bjurquist, Lee (Kathie) Bjurquist, and Nolan Bjurquist; sister-in-law, Delores Bjurquist; in-laws, Loyce, Johnnie, “Teenie”, Lola, Fred, Frank, Myrt, Don, and Ron and all their spouses; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Nanna Bjurquist; siblings, Franklin Bjurquist, Laurel (Bob) Haglund, Charles (Edna) Bjurquist, and Wanda (Leonard) Olson; and sister-in-law, Delores Albarado.

Funeral Services for Lois Albarado will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 10th at the English Lutheran Church, 229 W. Main St. in Ellsworth, WI. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to services at the church, and also from 4:00-6:00pm on Monday, December 9th at English Lutheran. Lois’ final place of rest will be the Svea Lutheran Church Cemetery in Trenton Township. Memorials honoring Lois Albarado may be given to the discretion of the family.
