Lois Marie Isaacson (nee: Holtman), age 83, of Hudson, WI, passed away on November 29, 2012 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Lois was born on June 11, 1929 to Harmon and Violette (Lund) Holtman in Baldwin Township. She attended grade school in Baldwin and graduated from Glenwood City High School in 1947. Following her graduation, she attended Northwest Technical College and obtained her certificate as a Laboratory Technician. Upon her return to the Hudson area, she married Walker D. Isaacson at Gesthemane Lutheran Church in Baldwin, WI. Their marriage would be blessed with four daughters: Janis, Joanne, Judy, and Jean. After working some time as a laboratory technician at the Hudson Clinic, she decided to go back to school in 1977 to obtain her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She worked for many years as an LPN at the Christian Community Home in Hudson. 

Lois was an accomplished seamstress. Every year she made numerous dresses for all four of her daughters from the fabric they had chosen. Her talent could be readily seen in the two wedding dresses she sewed, an entire wedding party she fashioned, as well as the various suits she sewed for Walker. She also enjoyed quilting, and was a member of many church quilting circles throughout the Hudson community. Genealogy and her heritage were of great importance to her. She researched her family tree all the way back to the 1500s, and frequently traveled to Norway to find her ancestors. She also participated in bible studies and was an avid food shelf volunteer. Lois was a real “go-getter” and anything that may have seemed out of her reach, she accomplished. She was a proud nurse, proud to be at the top of her class in school, and was determined to check off everything on her personal bucket list. 

She is survived by her children, Janis (Larry) Hinchman of Hammond, WI, Joanne (Damian O’Brien) Rudrud of Altoona, WI, Judy (Chuck) Shatek of Hastings, MN, and Jean (Eric) Nottestad of Westby, WI; grandchildren, Jason (Regina) Rudrud of Honolulu, HI, Jana (Richard) LaPlante of Green Bay, WI, Jerrod Rudrud of Hudson, WI, Molly Shatek of Hastings, MN, Joseph Shatek of Hastings, MN, Erica (Andre Larsen) of Green Bay, WI, Brooke (Will Muhlack) Nottestad of Plattville, WI, and Olivia Nottestad of Westby, WI; great-grandson, Riley LaPlante of Green Bay, WI; and soon-to-be great-grandaughter, Adelaide Larsen. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harmon and Violette; step-mother, Nellie Holtman; and husband of 31 years, Walker. 

Funeral Services for Lois will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4 at the Bethel Lutheran Church, Downtown, 920 3rd St., Hudson, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. There will also be a visitation from 3-6 p.m. on Monday, December 3 at the O’Connell Funeral Home, 520 11th St. S, Hudson. Burial will be Willow River Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to PBS and the Leukemia Society.
