Lorraine Feltes

Lorraine Feltes, age 90 of River Falls, WI passed away at Kinnic Health & Rehab on November 10, 2020.  She was born on October 18, 1930 in River Falls, WI to parents Eugene and Clara (Cernohous) Meyer.  Lorraine graduated from River Falls High School in 1949 and attended the Rogers & Benner School of Beauty Culture in Minneapolis, MN.  She married Lloyd Feltes on April 22, 1953.   The newlyweds moved to Trempealeau, WI before settling in Sparta, WI where they raised 5 children.   Following Lloyd’s death in 1995, Lorraine moved back to River Falls to be closer to her family in her golden years.

Lorraine was a devoted member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sparta and St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls, where she ministered Holy Communion and performed many volunteer services.  She was an avid seamstress, making cherished baby blankets for all of her children and grandchildren, and volunteering her time and talents to the Martha Quilters Group at St. Bridget’s.  She was an exceptional baker, with some of her family favorites being her Christmas cookies. Lorraine also delighted in playing a good hand of cards with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband Lloyd Feltes; son Michael Feltes; daughter Mary Feltes; brother Norbert Meyer; and brother-in-law Don Obermueller.  Lorraine will remain in the hearts of her children Kathy Swan of Orlando FL, son John Feltes of Prescott, WI, and daughter Jeanne Edler of Celina, TX; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Obermueller, Frances Meyer, Barb (Barry) Lindsay and Jerry (Rosemary) Meyer.   She will be dearly missed by all that new and loved her.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 23, 2021 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 211 E Division St., River Falls, with Fr. Gerald Harris officiating.  A gathering of family and friends (masks and social distancing encouraged) will take place one hour prior to Mass at the church.  Private interment will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Sparta, WI.
