Lorraine Marion Deiss-Pitcock, age 91, of River Falls died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Comforts of Home in River Falls, WI. Lorraine was born on December 28, 1923 in Trimbelle WI, the daughter of Joseph and Bertha (Huppert) Wussler.
Lorraine married Clayton Deiss on September 29, 1942 at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Clayton and Lorraine farmed South of River Falls, on Hwy 29 all of their married life until Clayton died in 1971. Lorraine also worked at 3M Chemo-lite from 1955 until
retirement. Through the years she always enjoyed a good dance on any and all dance floors from River Falls to Webster and let’s not forget, her retirement years in Arizona. Of course, fishing was probably her main love at Devils Lake in Webster, WI where she owned her lake home after Clayton had passed away. In later years, she married Thomas Pitcock and they had 21 wonderful years together. Lorraine had many other hobbies that included
bowling, horseback riding, knitting, crocheting, painting, working in her flower
gardens and keeping a lush lawn at the lake. But most of all, Lorraine was
known for her heart of serving others. She always had an extra plate or two
set at her table with food for everyone, plus a little more. Her door and heart
was open to all. Lorraine was a member of St. Bridget Church in River Falls.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her first husband Clayton Deiss, her parents,
Joseph and Bertha Wussler and her siblings Marcella Wussler Senzig, Clarence
Wussler, and Delores Wussler Langer. Lorraine is survived by her husband
Tom Pitcock, her sons, Jim and Gordy (Starla) Deiss, and daughter Joanne
(Bob) Maier; step-children, Thomas Pitcock II, Gary Pitcock, Vicky Nower;
grandchildren, Laurie (Tyler) Wilson, Lisa (Matt) Woiwode, Larry Deiss, Kim (Matt) Nelson, Kyle (Jamie) Deiss, Kasey Deiss, Jackie (Steve) Mark, Jodi (Larry) Pechacek, Peggy (Doug) Lorenzen, Maria (Jim) Maier, Bridget (Larry) Nelson, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
