He graduated from the Baldwin-Woodville Area High School in 1961 and attended Technical School in St. Paul where he learned to be a machinist. Some of their favorite destinations were Hawaii, Alaska, Memphis, and New Orleans.

In his younger days, Lyle raced stock car at various speedway’s in Wisconsin and Minnesota, and even in Thunder Bay, Canada, a couple of times. Lyle’s love for speed and vehicles also included Harley Davidson motorcycles and airplanes. He was very proud of the fact that he had attained a pilot’s license. Lyle was also fond of going fishing, watching the History Channel or a NASCAR race, and rooting on the Green Bay Packers. He was a loyal member of the Sons of the American Revolution, which he was privileged to join due to his Patriot ancestor James Magee’s Revolutionary War service. Lyle served as Historian of the Wisconsin Society, Stephen Tainter Chapter.

    • Jonel,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I know I don’t need to tell you what a wonderful man Lyle was. My Mom and Dad thought the world of Junior has they always called him! I remember fondly when Dad(Merwin) was passing and he came to the hospital to see Dad, we didn’t know if Dad knew who we were but he sure knew “Junior” I recall fondly the handshake Dad gave him! I know he shall be truly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. I wish I could make it, but I relocated to the Appleton, WI area and just started a new job. But please know you and yours will be in my prayers. Take Care, Rita McGee
