Lynn Ann Handlos, age 45, lost her valiant battle with cancer on April 17, 2016 at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN.

Lynn was born February 2, 1971 in River Falls, WI to Ronald and Helen (Myhre) Handlos and grew up on the family farm in Hudson, WI. After graduating from High School in 1989, Lynn moved to the Twin Cities, settling in Uptown. In 1998 Lynn started working with Rollin Thornton and they quickly became partners for life.

Dedicated to family and friends, Lynn loved to plan family events and special trips with Rollin and her nieces and nephews. She loved to travel and she and Rollin traveled extensively with family and friends.

Lynn always made Christmas special with family presents that included Star Wars character bathrobes and matching ugly Christmas sweaters. Lynn built special relationships with her ‘kids’ – her nieces and nephews and her young cousin Nya Myhre.

She shopped better than anyone — helping pick prom dresses, wedding dresses and anything hard to find. Her house was a home for the entire family. She loved surprises that made people smile. She was an amazing partner, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Lynn will remain in the hearts of her parents, Ronald and Helen Handlos of Hudson, WI; husband, Rollin Thornton, of Minneapolis, MN; Rollin’s son, James Thornton, attending college in CA; siblings, Dennis (Dawn) Handlos of River Falls, WI, Kathy Handlos (Jon Weiland) of Bayport, MN, and Mark (Marni) Handlos of Hudson, WI; father-in-law, Richard Thornton of Huntsville, AL; brother-in-law, Allen (Wendy) Thornton of Port Moody, British Colombia Canada; sister-in-law, Susan (Jeff) Voracek of Buenos Aires, Argentina; nieces and nephews, Dustin and Caitlin Handlos; Nicole (Mike) Fuqua and Jenna (Pablo) Fernandez; Jamie and Emma Handlos; Alison and Emily Thornton; and Alec and Kate Voracek; uncles, Wayne (Diane) Handlos of Santa Maria, CA, and Terry (Kaye) Myhre of Stillwater, MN; and many cousins and extended family members. She was welcomed to heaven by her nephew, Josh Goodrich; grandparents, Lawrence and Gertie Handlos, and Helmer and Betty Myhre; and mother-in-law, Brenda Thornton.

A Celebration of Lynn’s Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson, WI. Visitation 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S 11th St., Hudson, WI as well as one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed toward breast cancer research.
