Mabel H. Veenendall

Mabel Hazel (Hansen) Veenendall, of Baldwin, died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Baldwin Care Center. She was born July 25, 1926 in Storden, MN to immigrant parents from Denmark, Andrew and Jensine (Andreason) Hansen. She graduated from Storden High School in 1944. She was employed by the F.W. Woolworth Co. in Fairmont, MN and the Pillsbury Flour Co. in Minneapolis, MN until her marriage in 1947 to Vernon “Bud” Veenendall of Baldwin. They had three children. She was a member of the First Reformed Church, Baldwin, a member of the St. Croix County Republican Party, a volunteer at Adoray Home Care Network (hospice, bereavement, and office) and a volunteer at the Baldwin Care Center and Birchwood Apartments. Also, had worked in Village Elections in Woodville and Baldwin. Mabel enjoyed reading, embroidery work and word search puzzles. 

Mabel is survived by two daughters, Janet (David) Dell of Annandale, MN, and Beverly (Douglas) Anderson of Blaine, MN; grandchildren, Todd (Amy) Dell and their daughter Quinn, Nicole (Jonathan) Omann and their daughters Halle and Kinzly, Andrew (Jill) Veenendall and their children Noel, Josephine, Matthew, Gerold and Sophie, Matthew (Kaley) Anderson and their daughters Hailey and Isabelle, Sarah Anderson (Jason McClure), and Joseph (Shannon) Anderson and their son Bennett; as well as two nieces in Denmark, cousins and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister; one son, Mark in 1994; and her husband of 52 years, Bud in 2000.

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Mabel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25 at the First Reformed Church of Baldwin, 1120 11th Ave., Baldwin. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton St., Baldwin, and one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.
