Magaly S. Balaguero, age 88 of Hudson, WI, passed away on Wednesday May 8, 2024 while surrounded by her loving family.

Magaly was born September 9, 1935 in Matanzas, Cuba. In Cuba she received a Doctorate in Education. She married Mario Balaguero, the love of her life. They then immigrated to the United States in 1960. She lived for years in Mundelein, Illinois, where she raised two daughters and continued her teaching career. Magaly resided in Hudson,Wisconsin the last twenty-five years where she enjoyed gardening, and filled her days with loving her dog Goldie and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters Maria (Mike) Kneip, Magaly (Paul) Wieczorek; grandchildren Dayne (Rachel) Van Arsdale, Drew Van Arsdale, Lucas Wieczorek; great-grandson Declan Van Arsdale and siblings Hector Araya, Humberto Gutierrez, and Gina Magennis.

Preceded in death by Mario Balaguero and her grandson, Nicholas Wieczorek.

Visitation 10:30 AM – 12 noon with Mass of Christian Burial 12 noon on Friday, May 17 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine, Hudson, WI. Burial Willow River Cemetery. Memorials to Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue, 449 Co. Rd VV, Somerset, WI 54025.
