Marc Henry Plourde, age 73, of Hudson, WI, passed away on January 2, 2024, at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN, after a courageous battle with cancer, with the love of his family surrounding him. Marc was born on April 30, 1950 to parents Francis and Jennie (Longar) Plourde and later step-mother Marceline (Gerlach) Plourde. He graduated from Somerset High School in 1968, he attended UWRF, became a machinist and retired from Marine Associates in Hudson after 30+ years.
He was an avid outdoors man and his favorite place was up north at the cabin in Danbury, WI. He loved to be out hunting, fishing or 4 wheeling, and in his younger years he enjoyed playing golf. He loved working with his hands, he could fix just about anything with a motor. He had many talents but his chicken on the grill was by far superior! He had a love for all Wisconsin sports, especially the Green Bay Packers!
He will remain in the hearts of his wife Wanda (Flattum) of 43 years; children Christine (Joe) Carufel, Eric (Courtney) Plourde, and Mike Plourde; grandchildren Aidan, Hailey, Gavin, and Harper; brother Frank (Ann) Plourde of White Bear Lake; sister Renee (Darryle) Powers of New Richmond, WI; sister-in-law Myrna Plourde of Somerset, WI; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, infant sister and brother Roy Plourde.
A visitation for Marc will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024 at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Hudson, WI from 4-6:30 p.m. with a service starting at 6:30. Memorials are preferred to the family.
My sincere condolences to the Plourde family. I enjoyed the many visits with my dad to your family farm in my younger days. May God bless everyone. Sincerely, Your cousin . Mark Longar
Our sympathies out to you during this time of loss. We hope the good memories you shared with Marc bring comfort to you.
