Marcella Janovec

Marcella “Marcy” Janovec, 94, passed away at the Lutheran Home in River Falls after a heroic battle with pneumonia.Marcy was the second oldest of a family of 17. She was like a mother to some of her younger siblings. Marcy married Frank Janovec in November of 1936.She led a very active life. Marcy volunteered many years at the Kinnic Nursing Home and at St. Bridgets Catholic Church. She enjoyed doing handiwork such as sewing, crocheting and quilting. All of her children received a hand sewn quilt. She also had a passion for flowers, especially her beautiful African violets. She was an avid walker for many years.She is survived by four children, Barb Wallrich, Paul (Mary Ann) Janovec, Jennifer (Dave) MacMullan and Mary Jo (Neil) Hase, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, three siblings, Helen Lamson, Jerome (Judy) Bishop and Leo (Shirley) Bishop, nieces, nephews and other relatives.She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank, son, James and two grandsons, Steven and Daniel.The family would like memorials to be made to St. Bridget Church Building Fund.Cashman-Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family.
