Marcellene Taft, 85, of Spring Valley, Wisconsin, passed away on April 28th, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones.
Marcellene was born March 17 th, 1938 to Valton and Bessie Cooper in Colorado City Texas. She spent the majority of her childhood in Colorado. As a teenager, Marci started waitressing to make a few dollars. She enjoyed the hospitality and made a career out of serving. She went on to waitress for 50 years. Marci met and fell in love with Earl Conner, they were united in marriage on June 18, 1955. They moved to California in 1957 to raise their family. Earl passed away June 20th, 1981. His passing left a hole in Marci’s life. She went on to marry Arthur Manville. After losing her second husband, Marci met and married her last love, Donald Taft. Marci enjoyed collecting owls, camping, playing on her laptop, word searches, watching the news, and SVU but most of all she enjoyed going to lunch with loved ones. Before moving to Wisconsin in 2014, she loved to come out and visit during the fall as one of her favorite things about Wisconsin was seeing the changing leaves.
Marcellene was preceded in death by her daughter Wanda Jean Conner, husbands Earl Conner, Arthur Manville, Donald Taft, her parents Valton and Bessie Cooper, and 5 siblings Dorothy, Vanita, Ray, Beulah and Truett.
She will forever be remembered by those closest to her including her children Earlene Kerns, David Conner and Tammie (Clayton) Van Buskirk. Sister Hassie (Rudy) Parzl, 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 1 bonus great-grandson, 2 great-great-grandsons, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30pm, on Thursday May 4th, at O’Connell’s Funeral Home in Baldwin, Wisconsin
