Margaret Oleson, 87, a long-time resident of River Falls, died Thursday, August 18, 2016 after struggling with Alzheimer’s.

Margaret is survived by her two sons Dave and Mark. She was born in Huntington, Indiana on February 27, 1929. She married Lyle Oleson on February 27, 1949. They moved to River Falls in the fall of 1960, where Lyle taught mathematics at the University and became very involved in the UWRF football program as well as other sports.

Margaret was a devoted mother and was dedicated to the community serving as secretary for the Chamber of Commerce as well as the City Engineer (Frank Ogden) and lawyer, Belmar Carish.

Margaret spent 17 years in Scottsdale AZ. Moved back to River Falls two years ago when she was no longer able to live by herself. She spent the last two years residing at Comforts of Home.

Private burial scheduled for Friday, August 26th at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials preferred to UWRF Alumni.
