Margaret “Peg” Mckintosh

Margaret (Peg) McKintosh passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023. Peg was born on April 1, 1936 in Crookston, MN. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ross; two sons, Ian and Brian; daughter, Lesley (Irfan) Chaudhry; three grandchildren, Zekriah, Mira, and Senia; and sister Marie Louise Smith.

Peg was preceded in death by her parents Henry Langenberg and Marguerite McCauley Langenberg; brother, William (MariLynn) Langenberg; sisters, Johanna (William) Heer and Elizabeth (William) Knox.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St. Hudson, WI 54016 with a Visitation one hour prior.

Peg received her Bachelor of Science in dietetics from the College of St. Teresa, Winona, MN and Master of Science in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin. Peg held dietetics positions, including: Chief Research Dietitian, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland; Research Associate in Nutrition, University Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa; Chief Clinical Dietician USAF, Wiesbaden, Germany; Assistant Professor of Nutrition Clarke College; and Chief Clinical Dietician at the V.A. Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.

Peg was a proud Vietnam-era Air Force veteran. While stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany, she met Ross. The two later settled in Hudson where they raised their family.

Peg cared deeply about family and friends and dear cat Bandit. Holidays and birthdays were important traditions that she celebrated with fervor. She was devoted to everything her children and grandchildren were involved with and supported them in all pursuits. She was an avid theater and opera-goer and generously passed this love onto her grandchildren. Over the years she loved playing bridge, cooking, gardening, and a good Packers/Vikings game.

She will be missed immensely and has left a legacy that will be known by generations to come.
