Margaret “Peggy” Kennealy

Margaret Therese “Peggy” Kennealy (Noonan), age 81, of River Falls and formerly of St. Paul, died on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at her residence of three years – Comforts of Home, in Hudson. She was born the daughter of Earl J. and Eleanor M. (Hogan) Noonan on November 28, 1928 in St. Paul.

Peggy went to grade school at Nativity, graduated from Derham Hall High School, attended St. Catherine University and earned an associate degree from the University of Minnesota. Her father worked for Northern Pacific railroad. Peggy loved traveling by train with her mother and grandmother. Her first job was with NP Hospital in St. Paul. Peggy worked for a summer at Glacier National Park, at Bechtels in San Francisco, for Blue Cross Blue Shield, and for St. Patrick’s Guild.

On November 5, 1960, she was united in marriage to Richard Thomas “Dick” Kennealy. They were members of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church. Peggy was active with various charitable Catholic organizations. She loved to entertain guests at her home and to play Bridge. She kept up on current events and politics, and she liked to give her opinion. Peggy loved to swim; she taught lessons and was a lifeguard in her younger years. St. Patrick’s Day was always a celebration as she was very proud of her Irish heritage. Peggy’s quick wit will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by daughter, Molly Crumley of River Falls and son, Paul (Kim) Kennealy of River Falls; former son-in-law, John Crumley; four cherished granddaughters: Clare & Kate Crumley and Devin & Morgan Kennealy; sister-in-law, Helen (Herb) Adelmann; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick in 2007 and her brother, Bill Noonan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Peggy at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 30th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine Street, in Hudson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Bridget’s Cemetery of River Falls. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, 715-386-3725.
