Marian Isebella Burmester, age 86 of Hammond, passed away January 17, 2017 at the Western Wisconsin Health in Baldwin.  Marian was born April 28, 1930 in Boyceville, WI, the daughter of Harley Oliver and Mabel Pearl Seeger.  She was united in marriage in 1948 to Albert William Burmester.  Their marriage was blessed with ten children:  Mable Kay, Harley, Irene, Norma, Henry, David, Loretta, Gary, Kevin and Dean.  Marian graciously provided for her family as a homemaker, giving them a loving and nurturing home.

Marian was an exceptional cook and baker, and delighted in canning.  In her quiet time, she enjoyed needlework and bird watching.  She was fond of gardening and tending to her flowers and vegetables.  Most important to Marian was faith and her family.  She treasured her time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  Their happiness meant everything to her. 

Marian will remain in the hearts of her children:  Mabel Kay Seeger, Harley (Geda) Burmester, Irene (Roger) Bruce, Norma (Dave) Omann, Henry Burmester, and Loretta (Tim) Coty; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; brother, Fred (Sharon) Seeger; sisters, Julie Breezee and Barb Jaeger; and sisters-in-law, Pauline Seeger and Anne Seeger.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; sons:  David, Gary, Kevin, and Dean; brothers:  Harry, Elden, Norman and Ted; sister, Nancy; and her parents.

A visitation will take place 12:00 Noon – 3:00 PM Sunday, January 22nd at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton St., Baldwin and one hour prior to the service Monday at church.  Funeral services will take place 11:00 AM Monday, January 23rd at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 1350 Florence St., Baldwin.  Interment will take place at the Glenwood City Cemetery.  Pallbearers assisting with the services will be her grandsons:  Michael Bruce, Cary Leen, Joshua Coty, David Skelton, Daniel Engelbretson, and Jeremy Pedersen.
