Marian J. Roraff

Marian J. Roraff “Mickey” age 74 of Woodville died peacefully Thursday July 22, 2010 at the Baldwin Area Medical Center.  Marian was born on June 29, 1936 in Spring Grove, Minnesota; the daughter of Gerhardt and Leona (Rostad) Winjum. She was raised in Spring Grove where she attended school. She then met Joseph C. Roraff from Cashton and fell in love.  The two were joined in marriage on May 28th, 1955 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Hokah, Minnesota.  This union would be blessed by daughters; Faith, Mary Jo, Bonnie, Susie & Joan.  They began their life together in Lacrosse, Wisconsin before moving to Woodville where they raised their family. After the kids were older, she worked several years for the Parkview Nursing Home in Woodville as a dietary aid. Marian took full pleasure being a homemaker and tending to her family. She loved baking and cooking. She was a member of the Happy Homemakers Club as well as Zion Lutheran’s Ladies Guild. Her days as mother included sewing clothes for her kids and making sure her gardens were full of blossoms.  She truly enjoyed music.  Her health then began to fade suffering from MS, but not her spirit. When she became a resident of Parkview; she became their reassuring social butterfly.

Marian will never be forgotten by her daughters, Mary Jo (Barry) Lunzer of Baldwin, Bonnie (Gerry) Veenendall of Baldwin, Susie (Steve) Waldera of Blair, WI, & Joan Lund of Baldwin; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, and brother Virgil and wife Betty Winjum of Spring Grove. She joins her husband Joe who died April 15th, 2010, parents Gerhardt and Leona (Rostad) Winjum, daughter Faith Veenendall and son-in-law Tom Lund in death.

A Memorial Service for Marian Roraff will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 4th, 2010 at the Zion Lutheran Church of Woodville.  Pastor Keith Anderson to officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church, and also from 4-7 PM on Tuesday August 3rd at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin. Burial will be with her husband in the sunset Cemetery in Woodville with urnbearers being Chad Veenendall,  Dustin Veenendall, Nathan Veenendall, Tommy Waldera, Bryce Lunzer, and TJ Lund. Honorary urn bearers will be Scott Winjum, Jeff Winjum, Tracy Schmitz (Winjum) and Troy Winjum.

Memorials are preferred. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin WI. 715-684-3434
