Marian Lorraine (Marek) Pechacek, 93, passed away on January 3rd, 2021. Marian was born on September 16, 1927 in River Falls, Wisconsin, one of five children born to Frank and Agnes (Dusek) Marek.  Marian was raised in Big River on her parents’ dairy farm.  She attended St. Mary’s Big River Catholic School and graduated from River Falls High School in 1945.  Marian was united to Marvin F. Pechacek in marriage on October 1, 1946 at St. Mary’s Big River Catholic Church in River Falls, Wisconsin.  Eight children were born to their union.  Marvin and Marian farmed most of their married life in Prescott where they raised their family.  Marian was a devoted lifelong member of St. Mary’s Big River.  She will be remembered by all for her love of family, flowers, gardening, cooking, and baking (especially kolachies) as well as for her welcoming and sociable personality.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Agnes Marek; her husband of 67years, Marvin Pechacek; her son, David Pechacek; her daughter-in-law, Carol Pechacek; her son-in-law, David Esterby; and her brothers, Sylvester, Jerome, and Matthias Marek.

Marian is survived by her sister, Doris Langer; her children: Gerald Pechacek, Dianna Esterby, Edwin (Catherine) Pechacek, Lois (Steven) Huppert, Steven Pechacek, Patrick (Kelly) Pechacek, and Chris (Janice) Pechacek; grandchildren: Anne Marie Pechacek, Jonathan (Stephanie) Pechacek, Jeff Esterby, Marion (Becky) Esterby, Kelly (Michael) Nelson, Andrew (Tracie) Esterby, Michael Pechacek, Matthew (Jamie) Pechacek, Adam Huppert, Nathan (Melissa) Huppert, Rose Joy (Patrick) Breslin, Rachel (Michael) Kern, Maria & Derek Pechacek, Hannah (Rico) Walden, Elisabeth, Gabrielle, Evan, Vanessa, Isaiah, & Raphael Pechacek; great-grandchildren: Dain, Ella, Nolan, Cooper, Abby, Ben, CJ, Zoe, Noah, Katlyn, Megan, Madyson, Andrea, Breia, Olyvia, Jaymeson, Eleanora, Colton &Malachi.

A funeral Mass will be at 2:30 PM Sunday, January 10th, 2021 at St. Bridget Church, River Falls, Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM at the church, with burial at St. Mary’s Big River Cemetery, River Falls, WI.  The funeral Mass will be live-streamed on St. Bridget’s YouTube page for those not able to attend.
