Marie Delores Hansen, age 83, of Hudson, WI, formerly of Chicago,  IL, passed away on November 29, 2016 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson, WI.

Marie was born on October 11, 1933 in Chicago, IL, to Frank and Sophie (Rawski) Panek. She grew up and graduated from catholic school in Chicago. Marie was united in marriage to Kenneth Hansen. To this union, nine children would be born. Marie raised her children while she and her husband operated a glass installation company. She also worked as a secretary for several other family businesses and had taken classes to be a court stenographer. In the late 1980s Marie moved to River Falls, WI and later to Hudson, WI to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Marie was a loving and caring mother. She adored her grandchildren and  relished in her ability to dedicate a lot of time to them. Marie was always attentive of family birthdays and was fond of planning elaborate family get togethers. She was a great cook and enjoyed trying different recipes for all types of dishes. Marie was always a fashionably dressed lady who loved her classy hat collection. Her catholic faith was very important to her 

Marie will be dearly missed by her children: Paul Hansen, Wayne Hansen, Craig (Debra) Hansen, Laura (David) Prorok, Marie Allen, and Kathleen (Alan) McLaurin; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank (Dottie) Panek; and 5 nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; children, Kenneth Jr., Karen and Jennifer; mother, Sophie (Rawski) Stonchus; and sister, Joan (Mickey) Lenihan.

A Funeral Service for Marie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside, IL, with a visitation held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
