Nancy Marie Fuhrman passed away peacefully at home on June 11, 2024, in Hudson,
Wisconsin with her loving husband and son by her side. She was born on May 1, 1947,
in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, and has always been known by her middle name Marie.
Marie graduated from Washburn High School in 1965. After high school she continued
her education in Superior, WI before embarking on a successful career in banking. She
was respected for her work ethic and commitment to helping others.
Marie and Duane got married on August 11, 1973 in Washburn, WI. They moved to
Hudson, WI shortly after and started building their life together.
Marie loved her family above all else. As a wife, she shared over 50 years of
unconditional love and partnership with her husband. She was a beacon of light for her
son, and guided him through life with unwavering love and kindness. Being a grandma
brought her immeasurable joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her
grandkids. She was also a loving aunt who cared deeply for all her nieces and
nephews. Marie touched the lives of many throughout her life, including her numerous
friends and extended hockey family.
She always kept in touch with loved ones and truly cared about everyone. In her free
time she enjoyed gardening, crafting, and baking treats for family and friends. She was
a devoted hockey mom who loved hosting spaghetti dinners, and having a house full of
hockey boys. Most importantly she loved family gatherings, especially Christmas, where
memories were created that will be treasured for generations.
Marie is survived by her husband Duane Fuhrman, son Duane (Lindsey) Fuhrman, her
grandkids Madison and Jackson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Proceeded in
death by her parents Raymond and Esther Divine, her sister Joyce and brother Bob.
May she rest in peace knowing she left a legacy of love, kindness and dedication that
will endure through the lives she touched.
A funeral service to honor Marie’s life will be held 10:30 Thursday June 20 at O’Connell Funeral Home, 520 11th St. S. in Hudson with visitation 9:30-10:30 AM. Burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life at a later date to honor the wonderful person she was.
