Marie J. Keeney

Marie J. Keeney, age 55, of Hudson, WI, passed away on September 1, 2014 at her home in Hudson.

Marie was born on July 15, 1959 to Kenneth and Margaret Crawford in St. Paul, MN. She grew up in St. Paul with her three sisters, and attended school there. Marie worked for many years as an aid for the developmentally disabled, a career in which she loved.

On August 16, 1986, she was united in marriage to David Wayne Keeney at the Renaissance Festival in Shakopee, MN – the very first couple to be married there! Their marriage would be blessed with one daughter, Andrea.

Marie loved being around people and being social. She enjoyed attending live music, watching movies, and visiting her friends. Her daughter and grandson, Andrea and Diesel, were her pride and joy, and she enjoyed watching Andrea drive race car. She was a huge supporter and was behind her “Keeney Racers” all the way. Dave’s family became her close family, and even after his passing, remained close. Marie also was a dog lover, and treated her dogs, Duke and Jade, like her own children. She had a heart of gold, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Andrea (Adam Arcand) Keeney; grandson, Diesel Arcand; 3 sisters; brother-in-law, Jeff (Barb) Keeney; parents-in-law, Milt and Doris Keeney; fiancé, Dana Lofgren; and dogs, Duke and Jade.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David; and her first son, Eddie.

A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, with a funeral service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Hermitage Cemetery in Mt. Hope, WI.
