Marie Rosella King, age 91, of Hudson, WI, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2017 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson
Marie was born August 8, 1926 in Afton, MN to Frank and Delia (Simon) Moelter. She was one of seven children and grew up on the family farm in River Falls, WI. On August 8, 1953, she was united in marriage to James A. King at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls, a loving union that was blessed with four children: Geri, Dar, David, and Ron. The family settled in North Hudson and when their children were older, Marie and Jim moved to a home on Big Blake Lake north of Amery, WI, to enjoy the quietness of the outdoors and lake life. In their final years they moved back to their home in North Hudson to be closer to family.
Marie loved her family and relished the time she spent with them. Over the years, she enjoyed clipping coupons and hunting for bargains, making wooden crafts with her siblings, playing cards, bingo, fishing, and watching her favorite television programs, The Young and The Restless and Wheel of Fortune. Before her husband passed away in 2016, Marie and Jim made it a daily routine to watch Wheel of Fortune together at CCH. Marie’s catholic faith was very important to her and she was a long time member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Marie is survived by her children: Geri (Ron) Keller, Dar (Gary) Paquin, David (Gina) King, and Ron (Jean Tesar) King; grandchildren: Rusty & Dusty Keller, Tiffany (Kelly) George, Christi (Zach) Westlund, Tristen Paquin, Brandon King, Jessica (John St Lawrence) King, and Jamie (Brandon) Kidder; great-grandchildren: Ethan King, Braden & Alexis Westlund, Mira Keller, Lillian George, and James & Austin Kidder; siblings, Gene (Jane) Moelter and David Moelter; sister-in-law, Shirley Moelter, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, James; parents Delia and Frank Moelter; siblings Margaret (Doug) Schweizer, Betty Lou (Ed) Mathys; Frank Moelter and Bob Moelter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 1, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson, WI. Visitation time and a luncheon will follow the service. Private family interment at the Mann Valley Cemetery in River Falls, WI.
The family would like to give a special thanks to staff and friends at the Christian Community Homes of Hudson and Adoray Hospice, who were so great to Marie and for all of the love, kindness, and care that was given to her.
