Marilyn Frederick

Marilyn E. Frederick, age 72 of Hudson, WI (formerly of River Falls, WI) passed away on September 8, 2010 after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. She passed peacefully in her home with her loving caregiver, her grandson Joseph, at her side. Marilyn was born at home in Lakeland, MN on February 4, 1938. She was the oldest child of George K. Mueller (1912-1967) and Elvina D. Mueller (nee Weyer) (1918-2008). Marilyn graduated from the Stillwater High School class of 1956.

Marilyn married John R. Frederick (1933-1978) of River Falls, WI in Iowa in 1958. They were married for 19 years before John’s untimely death in 1978. Marilyn had only one child, a son, Terry. She worked many years for an insurance company in the Twin Cities. She later took a job at the Hudson K-Mart being one of the first employees hired and one of the last to go when the store closed 13 years later.

Being a widow of 32 plus years, Marilyn maintained her own home and enjoyed her rural solitude along with many pets over the years. Marilyn really loved her wild game “sanctuary”, and took many pictures of the animals she watched. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and collected lots of “Packers Stuff.” Special joy filled her life when she became a proud grandmother of three, and then years later a four-time blessed great-grandmother.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband John; parents George and Elvina; and brother-in-law Harold “Butch” Haft. She is survived by her son Terry (Ruth Ann) Frederick of Woodville;  grandchildren Kelly Jo (Nathan) Hetrick, John Raymond Frederick, and Joseph Nicholas Frederick; great-grandchildren Carleen, Caitlyn, Cory and Caleb Hetrick all of Hammond, WI; brothers Richard (Sharon) Mueller, Frazee, MN, Stanley (Nancy) Mueller, Lakeland, MN; sisters Connie (Robert) Bearl, Lakeland, MN, Georgia Haft, Oakdale, MN; brothers-in-law Kenton (Dorothy) Frederick, River Falls, WI, and Jim (Rita) Frederick, Wasilla, AK.; former daughter-in-law Mary; her faithful companion “Meow”; as well as many friends, neighbors, nieces, nephews and extended family.
