Marilyn Thurber

Reverend Marilyn Thurber, age 76, of New Richmond passed away suddenly on December 26, 2021. Marilyn was born on March 19, 1945 in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1963, Marilyn graduated from Johnson High School in St. Paul. After graduation, Marilyn married the love of her life Robert Thurber in St. Paul. The couple went on to raise two daughters; Karen and Kelly. In 1983 Marilyn graduated from Macalester College. In 1988 Marilyn furthered her education by graduating from the Luther Northwestern Seminary.

Reverend Marilyn was a dedicated Minister for 30 years, serving the community at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Burkhardt, Wisconsin. There was nothing that Marilyn loved more than her family. She was always so proud of her two daughters. Marilyn also had a passion for animals, especially her golden retrievers and her little dog Raggs.

Marilyn will forever live on in the hearts of her husband Robert W. Thurber; Daughters Karen (John) Lindstrom and Kelly (Anthony) Chan; Grandchildren Josef (Ashley) Lindstrom, Joshua Lindstrom, Kevin Chan, Nathan Chan, Jeff Lindstrom, and John Lindstrom; Sisters Nancy Gramse, Pat Thurber, and Diane (Arnold) LaBelle; Great Grandchildren Catalina and Mallory. Marilyn was preceded in death by her brother Verne Draeger and brothers-in-law Gene Gramse and Ronald Thurber.

A funeral service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Burkhardt, Wisconsin at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Boardman Cemetery in New Richmond, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Thurber family.

She will be missed by her family and friends. Marilyn is now dancing with Angels.
