Marion VanSomeren, age 86 of Eden Prairie MN, died on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the The Colony Home Hospice in Eden Prairie. Marion was born June 18, 1930 in Baldwin, WI to parents Frank and Catherine (nee Leinse) VanSomeren. Marion attended the Baldwin Christian School, and graduated from Baldwin High School with the Class of 1948. Marion served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Betty Ann Osenga at the Christian Reformed Church in Minneapolis on June 15, 1956.

Marion spent over 30 years, working in sales and later as a Sales Manager, for the H.J. Heinz Company. Outside of work, Marion could be found fishing at the family cabin on North Sand Lake near Webster WI, or traveling the countryside to visit parks, or to simply take in the scenery. Marion appreciated the gift of music, and enjoyed playing both the organ, and the accordion.

Marion is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty of Eden Prairie MN; his brother, Isaac VanSomeren of Edina MN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Frances (Ted) Wevers; and sister-in-law, Alvina.

Funeral Services for Marion VanSomeren will be held at 11:00am on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Wooddale Church, 6630 Shady Oak Road in Eden Prairie MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial with Military Honors will take place at 4:00pm at the Baldwin Cemetery in Baldwin WI.
