Marjorie was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Marjorie grew up in St. Paul, and graduated from Central High School. She was a comptometer operator for Brown and Bigelow in the late 1940’s. She stood 5’ 2” tall and was known for her love of swing dancing in her younger years, especially the jitterbug and never drank or smoked. She met her husband Joseph N. Smith while dancing at the Prom Center in St. Paul, MN; they married one year later, in Mason City, Iowa. They settled in St. Paul, where they raised their three children. About 1961 they moved the family to California and returned to Minnesota in 1971, where her husband unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack, leaving her and her brother to care for her elderly father, the late “Tony” Anthony Jensen.

Marjorie travelled and enjoyed ballroom dancing in her retirement years. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She will be remembered as a kind woman who loved her family more than anything. Her spirit and loving ways live on within all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., noon, on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private interment at Union Cemetery, Maplewood, MN. Her family would like to thank all those who supported her with their tender love and care in her older years.
