Marjory “Margie” Sagstetter

Marjory E. “Margie” Sagstetter, age 73 of River Falls, WI, left her suffering behind her and joined the Blessed in Heaven on December 5, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  Marjory Elaine, the daughter of Lon and Elaine (Weber) Thompson was born February 17, 1947 in Elmwood, WI.  She attended Nippersink Elementary School for four years before the family moved to Hastings, MN.  Following her graduation from Hastings High School, she went on to attend the University of Wisconsin – River Falls and then the St. Paul Vocational Evening Institute.  She obtained a position as the Classified Payroll Officer at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls.  Margie later received a position from the St. Croix County Government Center working in the Clerk of Courts office.

On August 16, 1969, Margie was united in marriage to Stephen J. Sagstetter in Plum City, WI.  After settling in River Falls, she became a longtime member of St. Bridget Catholic Church.

Christmas was Margie’s favorite time of the year.  Her spirit literally beamed as she shared her joy and gifts with others.  Creating flower gardens was one of her hobbies.  Margie had impeccable style, intelligence and genuine curiosity about other people.  She was caring, dependable, kind, generous and always helping others.  Margie was a loyal and true friend to an amazing number of people.  Her loving heart, free spirit and positive attitude will be a part of the lasting memories to her family and anyones life she touched.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Lon and Elaine Thompson; sister, Linda Campbell; infant brother, Lawrence Thompson; brother-in-law, David Sagstetter; and her mother and father-in-law, Ambrose and Fannet Sagstetter.

Margie will remain in the hearts of her loving husband, Stephen of 51 years; siblings, Judy Nelson, Wayne (Trish) Thompson, Donna Woodbeck and Joy (Edward) Isackson.  Also survived by sister-in-law, Ramona (Dennis) Schneider; along with brothers-in-law, Jerry (Jean) Sagstetter and Wayne Sagstetter.  Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews were a source of joy to her.

A Visitation (masks and social distancing required) will take place 10:00 – 11:00 AM Thursday, December 10, 2020 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 211 E Division St., River Falls.  A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held with Rev. Fr. Gerald Harris officiating.  The Mass will be livestreamed at:  https://www.youtube.com/saintbridget.  Interment will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Elmwood, WI.

The Sagstetter family wishes to extend a special thank you to Fr. Jerry Harris for his continued support and prayers during their time of need.  Memorials are preferred to the Rhino’s Foundation.
